There was actually a reason for why that particular patch of metal under the driver’s side strut tower was all hammered and welded: this car has swapped out the original L28 for a turbo RB series engine. With the Datsun not being a very wide car to begin with, a little massaging is required to fit the turbo onto the RB. Even so, we felt this could’ve been done a little bit better, so we chopped out the old modified panel to make room for our own.
The fenders were already cut on this vehicle with the intention of adding on fender flares. What they didn’t factor in, however, is that the fender flares don’t go all the way to the bottom of the fender, and use some of the original body line to mount to the car.
