This is as complete as the Targa Truck has looked in quite some time. The fenders (what’s left of them), rad support, and hood have been installed to mock up front end fabrication. They’ll be coming right back off.
The original frame rails weren’t gonna work…one less piece of GMC left!
This was Mark’s prototype for the proposed cooling system. Cool air would come in through the front, pass through the coolers in the middle, and make its way out the top in hopes of trying to keep heat out of the engine bay. Unfortunately this design, though really neat, was found to be somewhat impractical, and was abandoned for the time being.
Speaking of heat, thermal reflective material is installed around the engine to try to keep the cockpit cool
Getting out the laser level to make sure the front end goes on the tube frame nice and straight!
